What a whirlwind of a year this has been! I can't believe it's nearly over and how fast it has gone.
Looking back at all the accomplishments and amazing projects we've had the opportunity to work on it's easy to feel thankful for so many different things, both in business and personal life.
I've compiled a list of the top five things I am grateful for this year, thought it was hard to narrow down.
FAMILY:
My husband, Eric, and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Riley Mae, into the world on November 13, 2017 at 11:06 AM. She is perfectly healthy and happy and we are overjoyed with this new chapter in our lives!
With such a busy year, where would I be without the support of my family? They have been there for me throughout my pregnancy, moving homes this summer, remodeling the home we moved into and also post pregnancy. The support I've received from them has allowed me to continue to run The Modern Hive effectively and get done what needed to get done both for business and in my personal life.
OUR CLIENTS:
This year I am so grateful for the variety of clients I've been able to work with and transform spaces in their homes. The creative freedom they have given me have allowed me to create wonderful spaces, including a few that won an ASID award in the silver and bronze category. Thank you to all my clients this past year who have been so trusting and also understanding as I got closer to maternity leave! Thank you for making 2017 a year of growth - it has been my best year yet since starting The Modern Hive in 2012.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP:
Though it can often come with challenges and frustrations, I am so grateful to live in a country where I can exercise my right of entrepreneurship! I am grateful for the flexibility it gives me to work as hard as I want to, to be creative and work from just about wherever, which will definitley be appreciated as I work from our home office during the first year of Riley's life.
NEW PARTNERSHIPS:
This year I am especially grateful for new partnerships! Tara is The Modern Hive's independent design assistant. She joined our team in August has been a rockstar from the beginning. I am so grateful that she is a part of our team and has been assisting me during my maternity leave!
OUR NEW OFFICE SPACE:
If you have been following us on INSTAGRAM at all this summer and fall, you've seen that my husband and I have been remodeling our new home and home office. Though it's not quite finished yet (it will be a good project for me to work on while on maternity leave), our new home office space is just what I needed as The Modern Hive expands and grows!
