THE STORY
A Kitchen Remodel
PHOTOGRAPHER: MANDY MCGREGOR PHOTOGRAPHY
DESIGNER: ALLISON WEATHERLY
Our client desired a soft updated kitchen with a nod to their traditional Italian roots. Previously stuck with the original kitchen with an old cottage feel, this kitchen desperately needed an upgrade AND more room for out clients.
Our goal was to create soft and open aesthetic, and provide more space and storage. We utilized light colors and hand crafted materials throughout paired with brushed golds, vibrant wood tones, and overall lighter finishes to brighten and open up the kitchen
Challenge and Solutions:
The kitchen started very small and we needed to be creative with how to utilize the space and give the client all of the things they wanted. This included adding a dishwasher and getting the microwave off the counter. This house is in an older part of town and very small so we needed to be aware of how much room we could utilize without losing the dining area. We accomplished this by eliminating the wall between the dining and kitchen, and expanding the cabinets like a buffet piece to give more counter space and storage. It also made the home feel more connected, open, and brighter.
