MID CENTURY INSPIRED BATH

Modern yet Mid Century Inspired

THE STORY

Modern yet Mid Century Inspired

PHOTOGRAPHER: PAULA MOSER PHOTOGRAPHY

This client had found one of the most magnificent mid century homes in town. Built by a local well known architect in the 1940’s, the home boasted mid century architecture throughout. Except when you reached the master bathroom. The existing master bath had a horribly functioning layout with an awkward corner vanity and bidet toilet just to name a few issues with the space. Our goal was to bring this master bathroom back to it’s former glory and create a design that retained the true mid century charm of the home, but with modern amenities and a modern more functional layout. We renovated the space by moving every single plumbing line to better locations in the bathroom and even added a soaking bath tub. The end result yielded a space that allowed our busy clients to get ready in the morning with ease and relax at the end of the day in a beautiful and calming space.

THE CHALLENGE:

Our biggest challenge for this project was overcoming the awkward existing layout of the bathroom and working around the set of windows above the custom designed vanity. The client had specific needs for sink spacing and wanted to incorporate a double sink. In addition the client was in dire need to maximize available storage in the bathroom. Working around the awkward window placement, the vanity design we came up with allowed us to incorporate all of the clients needs and incorporate the window to look as if it were always a part of the design plan.
